The Uncle Earl

 

Lacy Phillips aka “The Uncle Earl" was born and raised in New York City. He learned the secrets of professional dancing and acting at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in Manhattan. After his study he started to perform as a professional dancer together with Bette Davis in the “Miss Moffat” musical, touring the United States.

Mr. Phillips then performed in countless Broadway shows working with multiple directors for several years.

He was choreographing the shows for musicians like Ce Ce Peniston, Vanessa Williams, Lonnie Gordon and Karyn White, also choreographed and staged the “The Wiz National Tour” starring Peabo Bryson and Grace Jones.

Lacy Phillips was associate director and choreographer for Mariah Carey and her “Around the world” Tour with shows performing in front of 50000 people.

He founded his Label Earl Hitz Records that is inspired by the culture of dancing at “The Paradise Garage” in New York City. It was created to embrace the sounds of house, dance and electronic pop music together with funk and soul - a modern Garage House Style.

 

In 2018 he won together with his producer Michael Kruse the Akademia Awards for his ToySounds debut EP "Invitation to dance vol I".

In 2019 he releases his third EP on ToySounds: "Invitation to dance vol III".
